What Happens at an APR Member Meeting?

General Sessions occur at the beginning and end of the meetings. APR's President offers a "State of the APR" address and other presentations address topics of broad industry appeal.
Committee Meetings mostly happen on the middle day. All attendees may participate in any committee meetings they choose, with occasional exceptions that are marked on the schedule.
Workshops & Special Events occur throughout the meeting and are open to all attendees.
Receptions are a prime opportunity to network with other APR member companies. An attendee list is provided in advance of the meeting for your benefit.
Local Opportunities are unique at every meeting. Let us know if you'd like to schedule a demo or tour!
Attendee lists are provided in advance of the meeting, and presentation content is released to members after the meeting.

Steve serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Plastic Recyclers, The Voice of Plastics Recycling®. As the international trade association representing the plastics recycling industry, membership includes independent recycling companies of all sizes, processing numerous resins, as well as consumer product companies, equipment manufacturers, testing laboratories, organizations, and others committed to the success of plastics recycling. APR serves the plastics recycling industry by providing technical and educational solutions with a goal of creating more good supply of material for recycling and enhancing the quality of the existing supply stream.

Steve also serves as President of Resource Recycling, Inc., a publishing and conference management firm. Resource Recycling produces the Plastics Recycling Conference, Resource Recycling Conference, as well as the E-Scrap Conference. It also publishes three trade journals: Resource Recycling, Plastics Recycling Update and E-Scrap News.

Previously, Mr. Alexander spent more than 20 years representing corporate and association clients on Capitol Hill and in State Houses across the country, including 10 years with Eastman Kodak Company, where he specialized in environment, technology and appropriations issues.

Bruce joined Houston Magnani and Associates in November of 2005 after most recently serving as Legislative Advocate for the California Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Magnani has 15 years of government relations experience and specifically has expertise in environmental issues, including air quality, Prop 65, transportation and Prop 42. Additionally, Mr. Magnani has experience in public and private works of construction, government procurement, public real estate transactions and construction labor issues. Mr. Magnani has a unique insight into how state government operates which is attributable to the six years he worked as a Government Relations Specialist for the Department of General Services under the Wilson, Davis and Schwarzenegger administrations. In 2004 he was appointed to the California Environmental Protection Agency’s Advisory Committee on Environmental Justice as a business representative.

Elena has over 20 years of experience establishing partnerships with governments and communities to advance large-scale projects subject to regulatory review and public scrutiny in energy, waste & recycling, iron, transportation, technology, and cultural sectors.

Her career has spanned roles as a public servant, corporate lead for government relations, and a consultant. This has allowed her to bring a diversity of perspectives to the table for clients in the development of organizational strategies, communications plans, and public affairs approaches.

Elena led Canada’s plastics industry association with a focus on reshaping the relationship between the sector and governments by positioning industry as a partner and technology solution provider with a shared vision for zero plastic waste in a low-carbon circular economy. She has advocated for extended producer responsibility programs and investments in recycling infrastructure to divert materials from landfills and transform waste into a resource.

Erin’s mandate is to drive positive change across industries in packaging and material sustainability—an area of action that is critical to conserving the world’s natural resources, and one that is key to WWF’s mission of protecting people and the planet.

Since joining WWF in 2011, Erin has played an integral role in growing the partnerships, programs, and science that have made WWF a leader in solving one of most pressing environmental issues of our time: plastic pollution.

In addition to helping spearhead WWF’s No Plastic in Nature initiative, Erin has led the development of programs to transform the way the world—and specifically business—fights the plastic waste crisis.

In 2019, her team launched ReSource: Plastic, the corporate action hub to tackle the plastic pollution crisis, and since then has built out a robust portfolio of efforts and partnerships to help companies take meaningful, ambitious steps towards circularity.

Erin is one of WWF’s leading experts on plastics and packaging and a key member of the WWF delegation advocating for a global plastics treaty, a first-ever international binding agreement on plastic pollution.

With more than a decade of experience with plastics, recycling, and materials management, Emily brings her skills of stakeholder engagement, industry expertise, and passion for reducing climate change to the U.S. Plastics Pact. The U.S. Plastics Pact is a solutions driven consortium with more than 100 diverse businesses and organizations across the plastics value chain working to rethink the way we design, use, and reuse plastics, to create a path toward a circular economy for plastic in the United States. Through previous work with the research and consulting company MORE Recycling and the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry Council, Emily built incredible knowledge and value chain connections that support her work today as Executive Director of the U.S. Plastics Pact.
